New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland Presents Employee Awards


New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland presented several awards at their annual Employee Appreciation Day celebration held on May 19 and 20, 2016.
Occupational Therapist, David Hesselink received The Buzz Fitzgerald Award, established by the friends and family of Buzz Fitzgerald to be awarded to a staff member who has demonstrated extraordinary care to rehab patients and their families. Dave always puts the needs of the patient first and is a strong patient advocate.
Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN), Nancy Lizotte was selected as Clinician of the Year, which recognizes an outstanding clinical employee who demonstrates NERHP’s commitment to patient care. A clinician who is committed to her profession and a true advocate for patients, Nancy demonstrates a passion for patients by understanding all aspects of her role and embracing new opportunities.

Pamela Pelletier, CNA, was chosen as Outstanding Employee of the Year.  Pam demonstrates the principles of comfort, professionalism and respect in all of her interactions with patients and their families.
Director of Quality and Risk Management, Bonnie Deveau received the Leadership Award, given to a member of the hospital’s leadership team who has made significant contributions during the prior year. Bonnie leads in a calm manner that inspires confidence in staff. She listens actively, offers great suggestions and helps build consensus around solutions.

Nutrition Manager, Tim Daigle was recipient of the Rehabilitation Services Award, which spotlights employees who work to improve patient care and contribute behind the scenes. Tim has fortified strong ties between the two facilities making both operations better. He is cheerful, approachable and quick to respond to any and all food service requests.
Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN), Joe Dacey was awarded the Sandra Marriner Certified Rehabilitation Nurse of the Year Award. This special award was established as a way to commemorate Sandra Marriner, a certified rehabilitation nurse at NERHP, who passed away in 2010. The recipient is nominated by peers, co-workers, and physicians. Joe has an impressive way of making every patient feel comfortable and as though they are the only one that matters.                                                                                                                                       
Along with these honors, the hospital acknowledged staff members with years of service from five to thirty years.
