Jeanine Chesley

Jeanine Chesley

Chief Executive Officer

Jeanine became the chief executive officer of New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland (NERHP) in 2012 thanks to her base of knowledge, experience and commitment to superior clinical outcomes. She has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare operations, finance and accounting. In 2001, Jeanine began her tenure at NERHP as the chief financial officer/controller and soon was asked to add HealthSouth Concord Rehabilitation Hospital to her financial responsibilities. Jeanine holds a degree in accounting, has worked in both the public and private sectors with eleven years in manufacturing including chief financial officer for five years. She also worked for six years as finance manager for Aetna Insurance (formerly NYLCare) of Maine.

Thomas Morrione

Thomas Morrione, M.D.

Medical Director

Dr. Morrione completed a geriatric fellowship at Maine Medical Center and joined New England Rehabilitation Hospital in 2008. A graduate of George Washington University School of Medicine, Dr. Morrione completed his residency in family medicine at Maine Medical Center. He is a member of the American Geriatric Society and is board-certified in family medicine and in geriatric medicine. Dr. Morrione is also on staff at Maine Medical Center.

Mary Cote

Mary Cote, SPHR

Human Resources Director

Mary Cote joined NERHP in December of 2011. She has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare field with 27 years dedicated to the human resources area. Mary comes to NERHP from a Portland, Maine, rehabilitation and residence facility where she held a senior leadership position with primary responsibility for the human resource function. She attended the University of Southern Maine and holds certifications as a Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR), personnel law, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) General Industry Safety and Health. Mary and her husband live in Auburn, Maine.

Bonnie Deveau

Bonnie Deveau, RN, MA, MSN, NE-BC

Director of Quality and Risk Management

Bonnie Deveau Joined NERH in June of 2014. She has extensive experience in acute care hospital settings in Massachusetts and Maine. She has worked in a number of different roles that include nursing leadership, business development, marketing,  community relations and most recently in quality & patient safety. Bonnie has an undergraduate degree in business administration and Master of Arts in human resource management from Emmanuel College in Boston. She most recently earned a Master of Science in nursing leadership from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine. Bonnie is also certified in nursing administration through the ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center) and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society. She has authored several journal articles and was a contributing author for two reference literature publications. Bonnie has delivered numerous presentations for national and regional professional organizations. Bonnie is an active member of the Organization of Maine Executives, American Society of Healthcare Risk Managers (ASHRM) as well as the northern New England chapter of ASHRM.

Sharon Hartl

Sharon Hartl

Director of Therapy Operations

Sharon has been at New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland since 2003. She has held progressive positions as occupational therapist, stroke program leader and occupational therapy clinical leader. She is a seasoned professional whose commitment to extraordinary patient care is foremost in her role as a clinician and as a leader. Sharon is a graduate of Quinnipiac University.

Sharon Kuhrt

Sharon Kuhrt

Chief Nursing Officer

Sharon brings more than 25 years of experience in leadership in the healthcare field to her role as chief nursing officer. She is an innovative healthcare leader with proven success leading established and startup endeavors. Sharon’s experience includes leadership positions in a variety of inpatient acute care, include rehabilitation, primary care and health plan settings as well as 18 years as a nursing educator for a range of associate degree programs to doctoral programs in leadership. She received her master’s degree in nursing administration from Regis University in Denver and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Northeastern University.

Jim Paladino

Jim Paladino

Controller

Jim began his career with New England Rehabilitation Hospital in 2014. During his more than 30 years of employment in the finance and accounting field, Jim has worked for both publicly traded and privately owned companies in both the for profit and not for profit sectors. He has more than 12 years experience in healthcare financial management, most recently with a 330 bed acute care hospital in New Hampshire. Prior to entering the healthcare industry, Jim served as chief financial officer/treasurer for two privately owned manufacturing companies. Jim received his undergraduate degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from St. Joseph’s College in Standish, Maine and his MBA from Southern New Hampshire University.

Cathy Waterman

Cathy Waterman

Director of Case Management

Cathy has been with NERHP since 1998. She began her career at NERHP as a charge nurse and nursing shift coordinator before becoming a case manager in 2001. Prior to joining the hospital, Cathy worked as a nurse and nursing supervisor at other healthcare settings. Cathy graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a bachelor's degree in nursing and maintains her RN degree. She has been honored with the Buzz Fitzgerald Award for Leadership (2011), Employee of the Year (2008) and Clinician of the Year (2000) at NERHP.
